A parametric model of residential built form for forecasting the viability of sustainable technologies

چکیده
Renewable supply systems, such as rainwater harvesting and ground source heat pumps, have the potential to improve sustainability resilience of residential areas. However, their feasibility partly depends on dimensions plot areas dwellings, there has been a lack suitable method modelling these for future urban development. This paper therefore calibrates validates how footprints dwellings would vary in size. Its inputs are total average density each area type within district. It could thereby complete chain from regional local scale testing spatial planning scenarios. The results show that calibration model is transferable between scales UK regions, validated against detailed GIS data. then developed into novel parametric estimate built form will affect renewable this demonstrated using an example. provides estimates water-savings at district more reliable than usual discrete per dwelling type.
